Chapel Down English Rose 2023 is a delicate rosé which epitomises English summer with aromas of strawberry and cream. Redcurrants and floral notes on the palate lead to a crisp, refreshing finish. Fruit is sourced from vineyards in Kent, Sussex and Essex. Grapes are grown predominantly on single and double guyot pruning systems, on varied soils including, chalk, clay and loam soils. The fruit was whole-bunch pressed with the majority of the colour coming from the Rondo and Regent rather than from skin maceration. The wine was vinified at cool temperatures to keep the lightness and freshness to a maximum. Chapel Down is England’s largest wine producer. Based in the heart of the Garden of England, Chapel Down’s finest vineyards are primarily situated on the North Downs of Kent with a terroir very similar to that of Champagne. The Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Bacchus vines are grown on south facing chalk soils and benefit from a warm, maritime climate. Chapel Down also source high quality fruit from long-term partner vineyards across Kent, Sussex and Essex, resulting in balanced wines with unique flavour profiles.
